  Notes	Excerpt from The History of Grafton, Page 537: Licensed to preach and ordained in the same year [1822], and installed as pastor of the Congregational Church in Randolph, Portage County, Ohio, January 7th, 1824; the pastorate continuing unto the present time [1879] for fifty-five years. Though his physical strength is not adequate to supplying the desk statedly on the Sabbath, it is sufficient for conducting exercises on funeral occasions, church meetings, and the administering of the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper. He was married January 25th, 1826, in Madison, Ohio, to Miss Emeline Bidwell, formerly of Farmington, Conn., who is still living, at the age of nearly 79 years, and in the house which they first occupied, his age being 81 years; becoming the parents of five children, two of whom have deceased. Three survive, and reside in Ohio. [5]
