"Melida is found in the 1930 US Census in Manhattan, New York living with her Aunt Maud, Calvin Merriam's sister. The census shows Maud being a widow with the last name of Smith. The census also shows Melida as being 17 years old, having been born in Central America around 1913, her father from Canada and mother from Central America."

Actual text of email "Calvin married Maria Josefa Pineda and had a few boys. Maria petitioned
the supreme court of Nicaragua for a divorce but it was not granted. It is very unusual for someone to petition for divorce in the first place let alone take it to the supreme court. You can see the divorce petition on the internet "
